A direção da 3R Petroleum (RRRP3) pretende indicar Roberto Castello Branco, ex-CEO da Petrobras, para o posto presidente do conselho da petroleira privada. Castello Branco está sendo indicado para suceder Paulo Mendonça, um dos fundadores da 3R Petroleum.
No mês passado, a gestora de private equity Starbord reduziu sua posição na 3R de 21% para 11% e abriu caminho para que a Gerdau se tornasse a acionista de referência da petroleira.
A Gerdau detém atualmente 20% do capital da 3R Petroleum.

A primeira passagem do economista Roberto Castello Branco pela Petrobras se deu durante o segundo mandato da presidente Dilma Rousseff (2015-16), mas na condição de membro do conselho de administração. Ele regressou à Petrobras nos primeiros dias de 2019, conduzido ao posto de CEO pelo presidente Jair Bolsonaro. Foi o primeiro e mais longevo presidente da Petrobras sob Bolsonaro.

Além da indicação de Castello Branco para a posição de presidente do conselho, a 3R Petroleum também pretende contar com Harley Scardoelli, ex-CFO da Gerdau, em seu conselho.
As indicações ainda não foram formalizadas, mas precisarão ser aprovadas na próxima assembleia geral da acionistas, prevista para o fim de abril.
