Vítima estava internada em Campos dos Goytacazes; segundo Secretaria de Saúde, ele apresentava comorbidades e baixa imunidade
A Secretaria Estadual de Saúde do Rio de Janeiro confirmou nesta segunda-feira (29) a segunda morte provocada pela varíola dos macacos no Brasil.
Um homem de 33 anos que estava internado em um hospital de Campos dos Goytacazes, no interior fluminense não resistiu à doença.
Segundo a nota divulgada pela secretaria, o paciente “apresentava baixa imunidade e comorbidades, que agravaram o quadro da varíola dos macacos”. Ele foi transferido para um leito de UTI em 19 de agosto e morreu na manhã desta segunda.
A primeira morte provocada pela doença no país foi registrada em Uberlândia (MG), no final do mês passado.
