STF afastou Ibaneis do cargo, pelo prazo de 90 dias, em 8 de janeiro, dia em que extremistas invadiram e depredaram o Congresso Nacional
O ministro do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) Alexandre de Moraes autorizou na tarde desta quarta-feira (15) que o governador afastado do Distrito Federal, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB) volte ao cargo imediatamente.
Com isso, de acordo com a decisão, Ibaneis volta a exercer o mandato.
O afastamento havia sido determinado pelo próprio Moraes, em janeiro. O ministro entendeu que Ibaneis deveria ser investigado por suposta omissão na segurança do DF no dia 8 daquele mês, quando bolsonaristas radicais invadiram e depredaram as sedes dos três poderes da República.
Inicialmente, o afastamento valeria por 90 dias.
“Revogo a medida cautelar imposta a Ibaneis Rocha Barros Júnior, determinando seu retorno imediato ao exercício integral das funções do cargo de governador do Distrito Federal”, escreveu Moraes.
De acordo com o ministro, as investigações sobre supostas omissões na segurança pública do DF continuam. E Ibaneis poderá voltar a ser afastado, se for necessário.
“Observe-se, ainda, que o presente inquérito seguirá seu curso regular, com a realização das diligências necessárias pela Polícia Federal para a conclusão do feito e envio à Procuradoria Geral da República e […] a medida cautelar poderá, de ofício ou a pedido das partes, voltar a ser decretada, se sobrevierem razões que a justifiquem”, completou o ministro.
