Na noite desta quarta-feira (29), o Instituto Histórico e Geográfico do Distrito Federal deu posse ao ex-ministro das Comunicações do governo Itamar Franco, Hugo Napoleão do Rego Neto na Cadeira 105 – Patrono Pedro Aleixo.
A solenidade aconteceu na sede do Instituto na Asa Sul em Brasília.
Nascido em Portland, nos Estados Unidos, quando seus pais eram diplomatas naquele país, o advogado Hugo Napoleão também foi ministro da Educação no governo de José Sarney, senador da República pelo Piauí por duas vezes, deputado federal por três mandatos e governador do estado.
Hugo Napoleão do Rego Neto é advogado formado pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, em 1967.
