A ditadura de Daniel Ortega, expulsou da Nicarágua um grupo de freiras brasileiras, informou a fundação da qual elas fazem parte, o Instituto de las Hermanas Pobres de Jesucristo, na última segunda-feira (3).
A organização “Fraternidad Pobres de Jesucristo”, movimento que nasceu no Brasil e está presente em uma dezena de países, caracteriza-se por gerir alimentos e atender necessidades básicas de grupos em situação de risco social.
O governo do presidente da Nicarágua, Daniel Ortega, mantém uma campanha contra a Igreja Católica da Nicarágua.
O ditador Ortega é amigo do presidente brasileiro Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) e persegue opositores em seu país. Lula já afirmou que “sente orgulho de estar ao lado de Ortega “, que mantém, por exemplo, o bispo Rolando Álvares, um crítico veemente da ditadura, “condenado” a mais de 26 anos de prisão por falsas acusações que incluem traição, atentar contra a integridade nacional e espalhar notícias falsas.
Segundo um comunicado sobre as freiras, a fundação também teve sua personalidade jurídica revogada e seus bens confiscados pela polícia. As freiras, que estavam na Nicarágua havia sete anos, continuarão suas atividades na vizinha El Salvador.
No Brasil, Lula já tentou censurar jornais que publicavam a verdade sobre as relações dele com o ditador nicaraguense. Lula incentiva Ortega com o Foro de São Paulo, organização fundada por ele e Fidel Castro, ex-ditador de Cuba, morto. No Foro de São Paulo Lula declara apoio a atos de repressão de Ortega contra opositores e depois tenta proibir publicações sobre suas próprias declarações públicas, simpáticas ao ditador; além de acordos firmados durante seu mandato anterior para bancar obras de infraestrutura na Nicarágua com dinheirodos impostos pagos por brasileiros.
