O dono do bar onde um trabalhador rural de 42 anos morreu após virar uma garrafa de cachaça no último domingo (16) disse à Polícia Militar (PM) que encontrou o homem já sem vida na calçada do estabelecimento, em Santo Antônio do Rio Verde, distrito de Catalão, no sudeste goiano.
Uma testemunha explicou que, se o trabalhador tomasse toda a cachaça, ganharia duas caixas de cerveja. Segundo ele, um cliente chegou a falar que o homem poderia morrer.
“Apostaram duas caixinhas de cerveja. Ele virou 1 litro de pinga, mas não aguentou”, contou a testemunha. Quando saiu do local, ele se deitou na calçada do estabelecimento e não se levantou mais.
Uma testemunha contou à PM que bebeu com o trabalhador durante o dia e tentou levantá-lo da calçada, mas percebeu que ele já estava morto. O Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (Samu) foi chamado e confirmou a morte.

Vanir Ferreira Duarte, de 46 anos, morreu em dezembro de 2020, em Campo Grande (MS), após ficar cinco dias internado no hospital Santa Casa, por complicações de intoxicação por ingestão de bebida alcoólica. Segundo informações do boletim de ocorrência registrado na Polícia Civil, a morte do homem será investigada como omissão de socorro qualificada, pois, testemunhas informaram que a vítima foi desafiada por dois colegas a beber cachaça em grandes quantidades.
