Defesa autorizou a entrada de marines americanos para exercício em Formosa
O Ministério da Defesa autorizou, nesta quinta-feira (3), a entrada de 50 militares e de material do Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais dos Estados Unidos da América ao “Exercício Formosa”, realizado anualmente pelo Exército Brasileiro na cidade a cerca de 80 km da capital federal. As manobras militares devem durar duas semanas, a partir de hoje.
Por avalizar o intercâmbio de membros da mais poderosa força armada do planeta no país, mesmo que para treinamento, a decisão assinada pelo ministro José Múcio toma cuidados extras ao definir os limites da atuação dos marines.
“Serão utilizados armamentos de porte e de uso individual e rádios portáteis de comunicação, que em nada se equiparam a equipamentos de guerra eletrônica”, adverte Múcio, em sua decisão.
A Operação Formosa é um exercício militar da Marinha que acontece desde o ano de 1988 para preparar fuzileiros navais.
