Ministro do TSE, Benedito Gonçalves pediu inelegibilidade do ex-presidente por 8 anos
O ministro relator do processo contra o ex-presidente Jair Bolsonaro (PL) no Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE), Benedito Gonçalves votou nesta quinta-feira (26) pela condenação de Bolsonaro por abuso de poder político e econômico. O ministro também pediu aplicação de uma multa, no valor de R$212,8 mil, para o candidato a vice na chapa de Bolsonaro, general Braga Netto (PL), nas eleições de 2022, mas sem pedido de inelegibilidade do general da eserva.
Gonçalves votou pela declaração de inelegibilidade de Bolsonaro por oito anos, além de aplicação de multa no valor de R$ 425,6 mil.
O julgamento destas novas ações começou na última terça-feira (24). Os casos estão relacionados à disputa presidencial de 2022 – especificamente, sobre o suposto uso eleitoral do Bicentenário da Independência. Para o MP Eleitoral, “está bem delimitado o desvio de finalidade” no uso de bens públicos em atos eleitorais. Além disso, o MPE entendeu que está preenchido o requisito da gravidade, necessário para caracterizar o abuso de poder. O órgão concluiu pela condenação de Bolsonaro nas ações.
