O Programa Nacional de Imunizações (PNI) trabalhará junto à Câmara Técnica de Assessoramento em Imunização (CTAI) para definir a melhor estratégia de utilização do quantitativo disponível, com público alvo prioritário e regiões com maior incidência da doença para aplicação das doses, segundo o Ministério.
A farmacêutica Takeda, que fabrica o imunizante, informou que a capacidade de fornecimento de doses ainda é limitada. Dessa forma, ainda não será possível disponibilizar a vacina em larga escala em um primeiro momento.
O laboratório pretende entregar ao governo cerca de 5 milhões de doses em 2024, entre fevereiro e novembro. O esquema vacinal do imunizante é composto por duas doses.
O Brasil registrou um aumento de 15,8% nos casos de dengue em 2023 (1.601.848), quando comparado ao mesmo período de 2022 (1.382.665).
