Aumento dos preços e furtos fazem supermercados lucraram alimentos

O crescimento do preço de alimentos básicos não só vem refletindo no bolso nos brasileiros, como também na organização de supermercados. O IPCA de março, o último a ser divulgado, foi de 0,56% e a inflação acumulada em 12 meses alcançou 5,47%, com isso, itens populares tiveram uma alta expressiva, como o café, que registrou um aumento de 8,14% em março e de 77,78% nos últimos 12 meses, segundo o IBGE. A alternativa encontrada pelos estabelecimentos para evitar que os furtos ocorram é a inserção de grandes e lacres nas prateleiras. Para Leandro Rosadas, especialista em gestão de supermercados, o movimento pode economizar uma grande quantia para o varejo alimentar.
“O país está registrando um crescimento no índice de perdas no varejo de alimentos, um setor que trabalha com margens muito apertadas. Ou seja, a perda de produtos reflete diretamente na rentabilidade desses supermercados. Quando analisamos que esse efeito pode ocorrer e a performance dos estabelecimentos pode diminuir, ainda mais por conta da alta dos itens, que já é algo negativo, é compreensível que busquem por alternativas para evitar furtos e até mesmo a degradação dos itens mais caros, como café e o azeite”, explica o profissional.
Prova disso é o levantamento ‘Perdas no Varejo Brasileiro 2024’ feito pela Associação Brasileira de Prevenção de Perdas (Abrappe), que revelou que o identificou que o índice de prejuízo ficou em 1,57% em 2023, representando um aumento de 6% em relação ao ano anterior. Ainda de acordo com a pesquisa, a maior da perda, que corresponde a 84%, se dá por quebras operacionais, furtos internos e externos. Para a Abrappe, uma cultura de prevenção de perdas deve que ser estabelecida por supermercadistas.
“Atualmente há diversas alternativas para evitar que os furtos e perdas ocorram, como essas que já estão sendo adotadas por grandes redes. Porém, além das grades e dos lacres, é possível adicionar também as etiquetas antifurto, aplicadas em produtos de alto risco, sendo desativadas somente quando o produto é pago. O Gatecash também é uma boa ferramenta, já que é responsável pelo monitoramento que utiliza filtros inteligentes e vídeo analítico para acompanhar operações de risco no PDV”, indica Leandro.
Na capital paulista, o Carrefour Express e Mini Extra já possuem unidades com pacotes de café em suas prateleiras, principalmente especialmente os de marcas mais famosas, dentro de grades de ferros. Em contrapartida, as cápsulas e os cafés considerados como premiums são colocados normalmente nas prateleiras, ou seja, sem a presença de antifurtos. O supermercado Extra afirmou, em uma nota, que 300 pacotes de café da marca Pilão foram furtados, levando a empresa adotar lacres de segurança nesses itens.
“Também há os sistemas de controle de inventário integrados, fazendo o monitoramento da transição de produtos desde o recebimento no supermercado até a saída do caixa, assim garantindo a precisão dos estoques e evitando perdas por erro ou fraude. Já a análise de risco promove a avaliação detalhada das operações para identificar áreas vulneráveis a perdas, permitindo um foco mais eficaz nos investimentos em prevenção”, Leandro afirma.
A inteligência artificial também pode ser uma aliada para a prevenção de furtos e perdas. A Veesion, por exemplo, consegue detectar roubos em tempo real através do seu software de reconhecimento de gestos usado no combate aos furtos. Uma vez conectado às câmeras do estabelecimento, o sistema envia notificações para o tablet, celular ou computador fornecidos pela empresa. As notificações são vídeos curtos que permitem identificar rapidamente o suspeito e intervir rapidamente.
O motivo por trás do aumento dos alimentos
Segundo o Índice Nacional de Preços ao Consumidor Amplo (IPCA), medido pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), o café registrou uma alta de 30% somente em relação a 2025. Para o especialista em gestão de supermercados, o movimento ocorre pelo aumento do preço internacional, impulsionado também pela queda da oferta global, principalmente com a redução da safra no Vietnã, que passou por problemas climáticos.
Já de acordo com os dados computados pelo Índice de Preços ao Consumidor Mensal (IPC-M), do FGV Ibre, o azeite teve o azeite teve a maior elevação acumulada (74,54%) nos últimos 3 anos, com altas consecutivas de 7,84% (2023), 46,84% (2024) e 10,22% (2025).
