O presidente nacional do PL, Valdemar Costa Neto expulsou o deputado federal Antônio Carlos Rodrigues (SP) após elogios a Alexandre de Moraes e recado a Trump para ‘cuidar dos Estados Unidos’.
Em entrevista publicada pelo portal Metrópoles nesta quinta-feira (31), Rodrigues disse que a aplicação da lei Magnitsky a Moraes é ‘absurda’.
“É o maior absurdo que já vi na minha vida política. O Alexandre é um dos maiores juristas do país, extremamente competente. Trump tem que cuidar dos Estados Unidos. Não se meter com o Brasil como está se metendo”, disse o parlamentar na entrevista ao portal.
As sanções, divulgadas nesta quarta-feira (30), podem dificultar o acesso de Moraes a uma série de serviços financeiros e tecnológicos.
A Lei Magnitsky permite que os Estados Unidos punam cidadãos estrangeiros acusados de violações graves de direitos humanos ou corrupção em larga escala.
Em nota, Valdemar confirmou a expulsão. “Antônio Carlos Rodrigues acaba de ser expulso do Partido Liberal (PL). A pressão da nossa bancada foi muito grande. Nossos parlamentares entendem que atacar o presidente dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, é uma ignorância sem tamanho. Trump é o presidente do país mais forte do mundo. O que precisamos é de diplomacia e de diálogo, não de populismo barato, que só atrapalha o desenvolvimento da nossa nação. Chega de arrumar confusão. Temos que arrumar o Brasil.”
