O governo federal respirou aliviado com o cancelamento da sabatina do advogado-geral da União, Jorge Messias, escolhido pelo presidente Luís Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) para substituir Luís Roberto Barroso no Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF). Jorge Messias, o “Bessias” de Dilma tinha sabatina marcada para o dia 10 de dezembro no Senado Federal.
O anúncio do cancelamento foi feito pelo presidente do Senado Federal Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP) no plenário da Casa nesta terça-feira (2). Alcolumbre disse que a sabatina foi cancelada pelo fato de o governo Lula não ter enviado oficialmente a indicação de Messias.
No entanto Davi Alcolumbre, disse, horas depois de anunciar o cancelamento, a senadores que a sabatina pode agora ficar “para depois das eleições de 2026”.
O ato do presidente do Senado mostra uma piora ainda maior na relação do governo de Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) com os senadores.
O movimento de Alcolumbre também se deu pela incerteza jurídica que se instalaria se o Senado fizesse a sabatina sem receber a mensagem do Planalto”
Segundo aliados do presidente do Senado, a falta do envio da mensagem irritou muito o comando da Casa, porque parecia uma manobra do Planalto para dar mais tempo a Messias de articular sua aprovação.
Com o cancelamento da sabatina, a indicação de Messias ganha uma sobrevida, embora “respire com ajuda de aparelhos”, segundo os próprios governistas.
Alcolumbre acredita que para ganhar tempo e viabilizar reuniões de Messias com senadores, o governo Lula não enviou ao Senado a mensagem que formaliza a indicação de Messias.
Sem isso, a Casa não consegue analisar a indicação no cronograma anunciado por Alcolumbre e pelo presidente da CCJ, Otto Alencar (PSD-BA).
Em comunicado a senadores, o presidente do Senado classificou a demora do governo Lula em formalizar a indicação com o envio da mensagem como “grave e sem precedentes”.
