Foram registrados mais de 60 mm de chuva em apenas uma hora e 150 mm nas últimas 24 horas
As fortes chuvas que atingem Petrópolis, na Região Serrana do Rio de Janeiro, desde a madrugada desta quarta-feira (17), provocaram alagamentos em ruas do Centro e levaram a prefeitura a suspender as aulas em toda a rede municipal de ensino e deslocar moradores das áreas de risco.
Às 7h29, a Defesa Civil municipal emitiu um alerta extremo para risco de deslizamento na região do Quitandinha. De acordo com o órgão, foram registrados mais de 60 mm de chuva em apenas uma hora e 150 mm nas últimas 24 horas na cidade.
As escolas que funcionam como pontos de apoio permanecem abertas para abrigar moradores de áreas de risco. O transporte público da cidade chegou a ficar suspenso por quase 2 horas.
A orientação é que a população evite deslocamentos, não enfrente áreas alagadas e fique atenta a sinais de deslizamento. Em caso de emergência, o telefone é 199.
Imagens enviadas por moradores mostram ruas da região central completamente alagadas, como a Praça do Pedro, ao lado da Rua do Imperador — a principal via da cidade.
No Centro Histórico, comerciantes fecharam as portas e subiram mercadorias para evitar prejuízos. Em bairros como Independência e São Sebastião, sirenes foram acionadas por protocolo de risco de deslizamento.
Segundo o secretário de Defesa Civil, Guilherme Moraes, equipes monitoram os efeitos da chuva desde as 5h.
“Promovemos avisos à população por meio das sirenes e abrimos pontos de apoio em regiões como Quitandinha, Thouzet, 24 de Maio, Vila Felipe, Alto da Serra e Independência. Também orientamos a suspensão do transporte público no 1º Distrito e o fechamento do comércio no Centro Histórico para proteger a população”, afirmou.
A Defesa Civil reforça que os moradores devem acompanhar os alertas oficiais e evitar sair de casa sem necessidade.
