Weverton Rocha foi alvo de mandado de busca e apreensão no âmbito de operação da PF que investiga a Farra do INSS
A Polícia Federal pediu a prisão do senador Weverton (PDT-MA), alvo de nova fase da Operação Sem Desconto desta quinta-feira (18), mas tanto a Procuradoria-Geral da República (PGR) quanto o ministro do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) André Mendonça negaram o pedido.
André Mendonça autorizou apenas o cumprimento de mandado de busca e apreensão contra o senador.
Nesta quinta, a PF e a Controladoria Geral da União (CGU) cumprem 52 mandados de busca e apreensão, 16 mandados de prisão preventiva e outras medidas cautelares.
A operação foi autorizada pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) e ocorre nos estados de São Paulo, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Minas Gerais e Maranhão, além do Distrito Federal.
O esquema consistia em retirar criminosamente valores de beneficiários do INSS mensalmente, como se eles tivessem se tornado membros de associações de aposentados, quando, na verdade, não haviam se associado nem autorizado os descontos.
Segundo informou o ministro da CGU, Vinícius de Carvalho, à época, as associações envolvidas no esquema diziam prestar serviços como assistência jurídica para aposentados e ofereciam descontos em mensalidades de academias e planos de saúde, por exemplo, mas não tinham estrutura.
Weverton e seu entorno mantiveram uma série de ligações com o lobista Antonio Carlos Camilo Antunes, o Careca do INSS, apontado como um dos principais operadores da Farra do INSS, cujo esquema criminoso foi revelado pelo site Metrópoles e posteriormente investigadopela PF.
O ex-ministro da Previdência Carlos Lupi (PDT) foi demitido após sua gestão entrar em crise por conta da investigação. Ele foi substituído pelo então secretário-executivo do órgão, Wolney Queiroz, atual titular da pasta e ligado a Lupi.
Weverton se disse surpreso com a batida policial em seus endereços.
