O presidente francês, Emmanuel Macron, adiou a viagem que ia fazer à Alemanha no domingo (2), em meio a uma crise de violência interna iniciada após a morte de um jovem baleado por um policial. O funeral de Nahel, de 17 anos, ocorre neste sábado (1º), em uma cerimônia islâmica na região noroeste de Paris.
Ainda na sexta-feira (30), Macron mobilizou blindados e 45 mil policiais para conter os distúrbios que já duram quatro dias, embora com menor intensidade. Ao menos 1.311 foram detidas até o momento.
Além de determinar a ampliação do efetivo de segurança, o presidente francês apelou diretamente aos pais dos menores que participaram das três noites de protestos anteriores.
O ministro francês do Interior, Gérald Darmanin, também autorizou a mobilização de unidades blindadas da gendarmaria, corpo militar que tem competências de segurança pública.
À noite, no entanto, a violência retornou, com registros de destruição, saques e lançamentos de projéteis contra as viaturas da polícia, que respondia com gás lacrimogêneo para dispersar os manifestantes. Por volta das 2h30 locais, o ministro já anunciava que 471 pessoas haviam sido detidas.
Violência e atos de vandalismo foram registrados principalmente em Lyon e Marselha, segunda maior cidade da França, para onde o Ministério do Interior enviou reforços. Autoridades decretaram toque de recolher em três localidades da região de Paris e em várias outras do país.
Mounia, a mãe da Nahel, disse à rede France 5 que não culpava a polícia, mas sim o agente que tirou a vida de seu filho.
A justiça decretou prisão preventiva por homicídio doloso para o policial de 38 anos autor do disparo, cujas “primeiras” e “últimas” palavras durante sua custódia policial foram “para pedir perdão à família” de Nahel, segundo seu advogado.
A primeira-ministra francesa, Élisabeth Borne, disse que seriam estudadas “todas as opções”, entre elas o estado de emergência que a direita e a extrema direita pedem, mas optou por reforçar o número de agentes e mobilizar os blindados.
O presidente Macron, por sua vez, pediu “responsabilidade” a redes sociais como TikTok e Snapchat, a quem solicitou a remoção de conteúdo vinculado aos protestos e a identificação de usuários.
