Na ação que chegou ao avião, foram presas 6 pessoas.
A Polícia Federal apreendeu na tarde desta quarta-feira, (4) 77 Kg de ouro, em barras, transportado por 6 brasileiros.
Após o monitoramento da aterrissagem de um avião turboélice particular, no Aeroporto Estadual de Sorocaba – Bertram Luiz Leupolz, e com o apoio da Polícia Militar Rodoviária, os agentes federais abordaram dois veículos, no KM 74, da rodovia Castelo Branco, sentido capital.
Dentro dos veículos foram encontradas 3 malas contendo barras de ouro, cujo peso total aproximado somou 77 kg. Foi encontrada também uma quarta mala com documentos diversos. Esta mala também foi apreendida.
Seis suspeitos foram conduzidos à delegacia da PF em Sorocaba, onde foi instaurado inquérito policial para apurar a possível prática dos crimes de usurpação de bens da União e receptação dolosa.
Segundo os documentos apreendidos, e que serão posteriormente analisados, o ouro seria oriundo do Mato Grosso e Pará. O metal foi encaminhado para realização de perícia em laboratório específico da PF. Por tratar-se de ouro, o valor da apreensão está estimado em cerca de 23 milhões de reais.
O avião também foi apreendido. Ele é objeto de sequestro criminal em outro inquérito policial. As circunstâncias da utilização proibida da aeronave serão apuradas.
