Nova regra vai passar a valer a partir do dia 3 do mês que vem
Uma resolução aprovada pelo Conselho Monetário Nacional (CMN), nesta quinta-feira (21), regulamentou o programa de renegociação de dívidas do governo federal, Desenrola Brasil, estabelecendo um teto para os juros cobrados pelos bancos no cartão de crédito.
Os juros no rotativo do cartão de crédito terão um limite anual de 100% do valor da dívida.
Para qualquer que venha a ser os contratos a partir de 3 de janeiro de 2024, e a partir de um eventual atraso, o juro acumulado não pode exceder o valor principal da dívida.
Segundo o Ministério da Fazenda, hipoteticamente, se uma pessoa usar R$ 1.000 no cartão de crédito e não pagar na data do vencimento, ela estaria sujeita a quase 500%, 450% de juros ao ano. Agora, isso não vai poder acontecer mais e não poderá exceder 100% do valor original da dívida.
“Continuam valendo as regras normais do cartão de crédito parcelado sem juros. A única mudança que entra em vigor no começo do ano que vem, é exatamente o fato de que, a partir do dia 3 de janeiro, toda e qualquer contratação, os juros estão limitados ao valor do principal”, disse o ministro da Fazenda, Fernando Haddad.
