A rainha consorte da Dinamarca, Mary Elisabeth Donaldson, visitou neste sábado (5), o Parque Jardim Botânico ao lado da vice-governadora do Distrito Federal, Celina Leão (PP).
O local, considerado um dos pontos turísticos mais importantes da capital, é um centro de referência para pesquisa e preservação do Cerrado, com espaços dedicados à divulgação de conhecimento sobre o bioma.
“A visita da rainha da Dinamarca à nossa capital mostra o quanto temos a oferecer de conhecimento da biodiversidade para mundo”, afirmou Celina durante o encontro.

Mary Elisabeth Donaldson também percorreu a trilha Krahô, onde apreciou de perto a vegetação nativa do bioma, observando espécies introduzidas por orientação do consultor Feliciano Krahô, cuja comunidade vive no nordeste do estado do Tocantins, na Terra Indígena Kraholândia.

Lívia Martins, diretora de biodiversidade e floresta do Ibama, ficou responsável por dar detalhes acerca de espécies e animais.
No Brasil para cumprir várias agendas ambientais, a rainha Mary esteve na sede da Embrapa Cerrados, na última sexta-feira, onde foi apresentada a várias tecnologias inovadoras na área da agricultura que visam práticas mais sustentáveis.
Na ocasião, ela plantou um ipê-amarelo, como um símbolo de união entre Dinamarca e Brasil, que recentemente firmaram um acordo voltado para o desenvolvimento nas áreas dos sistemas alimentares.
