Neste sábado, primeiro dia de Carnaval deste ano (1º), o transporte público do Distrito Federal registrou um aumento significativo no número de passageiros, transportando 121 mil pessoas a mais do que em um sábado normal.
O acréscimo de 23,52% coincide com a estreia do programa Vai de Graça, que garante gratuidade nas taxas de passagens de ônibus e metrô da capital federal. A iniciativa foi instituída pelo Governo do Distrito Federal (GDF) na última sexta-feira (28).
A operação, segundo o GDF, transcorreu sem registros de vandalismo e com frota suficiente para atender à população.
O benefício da gratuidade no transporte público será válido até as 23h59 da próxima terça-feira (4/3) para os foliões brasilienses. Após o Carnaval, o programa passará a ser permanente aos domingos e feriados, conforme anunciado pelo GDF.
