O presidente da CGADB (Convenção Geral das Assembleias de Deus no Brasil), pastor José Wellington Bezerra da Costa Júnior, é uma das lideranças evangélicas que dizem que o ex-presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) não deve ser recebido nas igrejas.
José Wellington é ligado ao ministério Belém, um dos maiores do ramo assembleiano.
“O inferno não tem como entrar em lugar santo. Aqui é lugar santo”, disse, em referência ao PT e a Lula.
“É bom que nos conscientizemos disso. Você, pastor, vai ser procurado sorrateiramente, dizendo que é só uma visita. É um laço do Diabo!”, prosseguiu em culto realizado na cidade de São Paulo no último fim de semana.
A CGADB é o maior grupo entre os que reúnem templos das Assembleias de Deus, que têm, em geral, um comando descentralizado. Mas não é unanimidade. O pastor Silas Malafaia, apoiador de Bolsonaro, por exemplo, é rompido com o grupo. Ele comanda o ministério Vitória em Cristo, que também é ligado às Assembleias, mas não à Convenção.
No mesmo evento, o pai de Wellington Junior, o igualmente pastor José Wellington Bezerra da Costa, mencionou a frase de Lula, de que o aborto deveria ser tratado como questão de saúde pública, não moral, para atacar o candidato.
“Por incrível que pareça, nós temos alguns poucos pastores que militam nesse partido. Meus irmãos, há poucos dias ouvimos o discurso do candidato que disse publicamente que era a favor do aborto”, disse.
O vídeo foi publicado nas redes sociais do líder da bancada evangélica, deputado Sóstenes Cavalcante (PL-RJ). Ele também é pastor e afirma que “Lula é um erro que o Brasil nãopode cometer novamente”.
No dia 10 de março, a ex-senadora Marina Silva disse à BBC que a esquerda brasileira e evangélicos passaram por ‘estranhamento’.
A ex-ministra do Meio Ambiente e ex-candidata à Presidência da República pela Rede Sustentabilidade, ficou conhecida nas últimas três décadas, principalmente, por sua militância na área ambiental. Mas desde 2014, durante as eleições presidenciais, ela passou a ser conhecida, também, por sua fé. Ela foi alvo de ataques da campanha da petista Dilma Rousseff focados no fato de ser evangélica.
