O ministro do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) Gilmar Mendes acompanhou nesta quarta-feira (19) o voto do relator, Alexandre de Moraes, em um dos processos para tornar réus denunciados pelos atos golpistas do dia 8 de janeiro que depredaram a sede do STF, o Congresso Nacional e o Palácio do Planalto.
Com o voto de Gilmar Mendes, o placar é de 5 votos a 0 para tornar réus os 100 denunciados.
Também já acompanharam o relator os ministros Dias Toffoli, Edson Fachin e Cármen Lúcia.
O julgamento começou no plenário virtual nesta terça (18) – exatos 100 dias após os atos de vandalismo que provocaram prejuízo de R$ 26,2 milhões nas sedes dos Três Poderes.
Os outros seis ministros têm até o dia 24 para inserirem seus votos no sistema eletrônico da Corte.
Ao votar, Moraes destacou que as condutas dos denunciados são gravíssimas e que tentar destruir a democracia é inconstitucional.
“Tanto são inconstitucionais as condutas e manifestações que tenham a nítida finalidade de controlar ou mesmo aniquilar a força do pensamento crítico, indispensável ao regime democrático, quanto aquelas que pretendam destruí-lo, juntamente com suas instituições republicanas, pregando a violência, o arbítrio, o desrespeito à Separação de Poderes e aos direitos fundamentais“, escreveu o relator.
