Morreu neste domingo (12) o ex-presidente do Conselho Federal da Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (OAB) Marcello Lavenère aos 86 anos, em Brasília.
O jurista, Natural de Maceió (AL), assinou o pedido que resultou no processo de impedimento do ex-presidente Fernando Collor de Mello, em 1992. Marcello Lavenère foi presidente da OAB de 1991 a 1993.
Membro vitalício do Conselho Federal da OAB, Lavenère também presidiu a Comissão de Anistia do Ministério da Justiça, atuando na reparação às vítimas da ditadura militar.
Em 1992, Collor foi o primeiro presidente no Brasil afastado por impedimento.
Em uma rede social, o presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) lamentou o falecimento e disse que Lavenère deixou “legado na advocacia brasileira”.
“Sempre atuante na defesa da democracia e da justiça social, Lavenère deixou seu legado na advocacia do Brasil e à frente da Comissão de Anistia do Ministério da Justiça, e se dedicou à luta pela reparação às vítimas da ditadura. Meus sentimentos e solidariedade aos familiares, amigos, colegas e admiradores de Marcello Lavenère”, afirmou Lula.
Além de advogado, Marcello Lavenère foi professor de Direito da Universidade Federal de Alagoas (Ufal) e da Universidade de Brasília (UnB).
OAB fará luto de 7 dias.
Em nota divulgada neste domingo, a OAB afirmou que fará sete dias de luto em memória de Marcello Lavenère.
Presidente nacional da OAB, Beto Simonetti disse que o jurista foi “um dos imprescindíveis da advocacia”.
“O sentimento que nos toma é de tristeza. Quem partiu foi um dos imprescindíveis da advocacia. Um homem com alma generosa e solidária. O presidente Marcello nos deixa ensinamentos de coragem e altivez. Que descanse em paz na eternidade. À família e aos amigos, registro meu sincero pesar”, disse Simonetti.
A Advocacia-Geral da União também lamentou o falecimento de Lavenère, destacando a atuação do advogado como presidente da Comissão de Anistia do Ministério da Justiça, papel que o consolidou como um “defensor dos direitos das vítimas de perseguição política” durante a ditadura.
“Por meio de seu trabalho na Comissão, Lavenère reafirmou o compromisso com a justiça de transição, a memória e a reparação histórica, contribuindo para a construção de um país mais justo e reconciliado com seu passado”, disse a Advocacia-Geral da União, em nota de pesar.
