Os EUA anunciaram nesta quinta-feira (20) uma nova lista de produtos que terão a tarifa de 40% retirada. A decisão foi publicada pela Casa Branca.
A medida beneficia carne bovina, café, açaí, cacau e diversos outros produtos que foram adicionados a conta imposto anteriormente ao Brasil pelo presidente norte-americano, Donald Trump.
Negociações entre Lula e Trump
Diferentemente da ordem executiva da semana passada, que era global, a decisão de hoje se aplica somente ao Brasil.
Na ordem desta quinta, Trump cita a conversa com o presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, no início de outubro, e afirma que a retirada das tarifas é resultado das negociações entre os dois governos.
“Em 6 de outubro de 2025, participei de uma conversa telefônica com o presidente brasileiro Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, durante a qual concordamos em iniciar negociações para abordar as preocupações identificadas no Decreto Executivo 14323. Essas negociações estão em andamento”, diz Trump no documento.
“Também recebi informações e recomendações adicionais de diversos funcionários […] em sua opinião, certas importações agrícolas do Brasil não deveriam mais estar sujeitas à alíquota adicional […] porque, entre outras considerações relevantes, houve progresso inicial nas negociações com o Governo do Brasil”, acrescenta o presidente.
O secretário de Comércio e Relações Internacionais do Ministério da Agricultura, Luis Rua, afirmou que a medida é uma “excelente notícia”. Segundo ele, o Brasil volta a competir em condições equilibradas no mercado dos EUA, o que ajuda a estabilizar preços dos produtos.
Alívio para exportadores
A retirada de taxas do café e da carne, especificamente, representa um alívio para exportadores brasileiros desses produtos.
Os Estados Unidos são o principal comprador de café do Brasil e respondem por cerca de 16% de tudo o que o país exporta. Segundo o Conselho dos Exportadores de Café do Brasil (Cecafé), as importações caíram pela metade entre agosto e outubro, na comparação com 2024, por causa do tarifaço.
