Na terceira reunião do ano do Copom, Banco Central decide reduzir a taxa Selic em mais 0,25 ponto percentual e passa a prever inflação de 4,60% neste ano, acima do teto da meta
O Banco Central decidiu, nesta quarta-feira (29), reduzir a taxa básica da economia (Selic) em 0,25 ponto percentual, para 14,50% ao ano, durante a terceira reunião do ano do Comitê de Política Monetária (Copom). Foi o segundo corte consecutivo nos juros básicos após a Selic ter ficado 15% ao ano — maior patamar em quase 20 anos — desde junho de 2025.
A decisão foi unânime e reforçou a tendência de cautela do Comitê, passando a usar a palavra “serenidade”. No comunicado, o colegiado demonstrou preocupação com o aumento das incertezas no cenário externo devido ao conflito no Oriente Médio, tanto que elevou de 3,9% para 4,6% a previsão para a inflação deste ano, acima do teto da meta, de 4,50%.
“No cenário atual, caracterizado por forte aumento da incerteza, o Comitê reafirma serenidade e cautela na condução da política monetária, de forma que os passos futuros do processo de calibração da taxa básica de juros possam incorporar novas informações que aumentem a clareza sobre a profundidade e a extensão dos conflitos no Oriente Médio, assim como seus efeitos diretos e indiretos sobre o nível de preços ao longo do tempo”, destacou a nota do Copom.
Com a nova taxa de juros, o Brasil continua na vice-liderança de juros reais (descontada a inflação), conforme levantamento feito pela Lev Intelligence e MoneYou, considerando a projeção para o Índice de Preços ao Consumidor Amplo (IPCA) dos próximos 12 meses, com juro real de 9,33%, atrás apenas da Rússia, com juro real de 9,67% anuais.
A reunião de hoje teve um desfalque a mais, além dos dois diretores ainda não nomeados para preencher as vagas deixadas pelos ex-diretores Diogo Guillen (Política Econômica) e Renato Dias Gomes (Organização do Sistema Financeiro e Resolução) desde dezembro de 2025.
O diretor de Administração, Rodrigo Alves Teixeira, não participou das sessões do Copom devido ao falecimento de familiar em primeiro grau, de acordo com nota do BC.
O Copom é formado pelo presidente do BC e por oito diretores da autarquia.
Em 2025, os diretores indicados pelo presidente Lula formaram maioria no colegiado, ou seja, eles são responsáveis diretamente pela decisão tomada.
Na reunião desta semana, o Diretor de Administração, Rodrigo Alves Teixeira, não participou.
