Belém, Pará — Numa confusão que mistura tragédia com piada de mau gosto, a COP30 viveu seu momento mais simbólico e seu ápice nesta quinta-feira (20): um incêndio irrompeu no Pavilhão dos Países, dentro da Blue Zone, aquela área restrita onde se negam soluções, mas se assinam “compromissos” para o mundo.
Delegados, jornalistas e autoridades foram levados à evacuação apressada — um símbolo perfeito da desordem monumental que permeia a organização do evento.
O fogo pode ter começado de forma patética: um curto-circuito ou alguém carregando celular. Em pleno debate sobre clima, estamos queimando literalmente dentro da conferência. E o que a organização faz? Corta a energia, porque controle de risco, claro, sempre foi seu ponto forte.
Apesar de ninguém ter se ferido — felizmente — o episódio desnuda a fragilidade estrutural e a irresponsabilidade de quem se propôs a sediar a conferência mais importante do planeta. Brigada de bombeiros e seguranças correram para conter as chamas, mas o estrago já estava feito: a credibilidade da COP30 e do Brasil, enquanto anfitrião, segue em chamas.

Um evento construído em gambiarras
Não se trata de um desastre isolado. Desde o início, a COP30 tem sido marcada por falhas grotescas de planejamento. Logo no primeiro dia já havia pavilhões sem energia elétrica, equipamentos de ar-condicionado insuficientes, infiltrações por causa da chuva e até banheiros sem abastecimento digno de água. Alguns relatos apontam para “tudo muito bagunçado” e uma desorganização que beira o amadorismo.
Ou seja: a segurança dos participantes já era frágil, a infraestrutura era precária e a logística beirava o improviso. E agora, num dos momentos mais simbólicos do clima global, a organização entrega à plateia um espetáculo pirotécnico totalmente involuntário — incêndio na Blue Zone.
A ONU já vinha batendo o martelo
Não espere que tudo isso seja surpresa para a comunidade internacional: a ONU já havia enviado críticas severas ao Brasil antes mesmo desse incêndio carnavalesco. Em carta ao governo, o secretário-executivo da UNFCCC, Simon Stiell, apontou falhas graves de segurança, logística, climatização (sim, a aerotermia do “pavilhão de gente de alto escalão” não suporta nem a umidade paraense), e infraestrutura.
Além disso, segundo reportagens, há relatos de infiltrações, portas “não monitoradas”, filas absurdas para alimentação e acomodações que, para alguns países, sequer foram garantidas.
Se a ONU já alertava para riscos, a organização da COP30 deveria estar em estado de alerta máximo — mas parece que falhou miseravelmente em responder ao próprio chamado.
Mais que um fogo: uma metáfora
Este incêndio não é apenas um acidente: é uma metáfora cruel da COP30 como um circo mal armado. Um evento que deveria simbolizar a urgência da crise climática acaba virando palco para o caos logístico. Representa a contradição de discutir sustentabilidade enquanto o próprio espaço de negociação literalmente pega fogo.
E pior: o episódio expõe a arrogância e a superficialidade de quem trata a conferência como vitrine diplomática, sem compromisso com a operacionalização real. É o Brasil dizendo ao mundo: “olhem o nosso show de clima”, enquanto nem garante segurança mínima para seus convidados.
O troco dos ativistas
Também não se pode separar esse fiasco do clima de protesto que já ronda a COP30. Há menos de uma semana, ativistas e comunidades indígenas já haviam denunciado omissão e exclusão nas decisões. O próprio reforço de segurança — determinado após carta da ONU — era um indicativo de que algo estava bem errado.
Quando parte da estrutura cai aos pedaços ou literalmente pega fogo, não é apenas falha técnica: é uma demonstração de que nem as promessas mais básicas de infraestrutura foram levadas a sério.
Conclusão
O incêndio na COP30 talvez seja o retrato mais cru e chocante da falência da organização brasileira. Um evento planetário sobre clima em que o anfitrião erra até no básico: energia elétrica, segurança, logística. Enquanto delegados debatem reduções de emissões, a casa desaba — ou arde.
Se a COP30 queria mostrar liderança climática, está cada vez mais claro que seu maior protagonista é o ridículo. E, ironicamente, esse escândalo pode ter mais impacto real do que muitos discursos eloquentes sobre “transição justa” ou “financiamento climático”: porque, no fim das contas, o fogo da incompetência custa caro — para a reputação do Brasil e para a própria credibilidade da conferência.
