Segundo o site Congresso em Foco, o deputado Elias Vaz (PSB-GO) pediu ao Ministério da Defesa que explicasse os gastos das Forças Armadas para a compra de 35.320 comprimidos de Viagra. O parlamentar compilou os dados pelo portal da transparência e encaminhou ao órgão. Desde 2020, oito processos de compra foram aprovados e seguem vigentes neste ano.
Em sua maioria, os comprimidos são destinados à Marinha, com 28.320 comprimidos. O Exército recebeu 5 mil unidades do medicamento e a Aeronáutica 2 mil. O sildenafila, comercializado com o nome de Viagra pela farmacêutica Pfizer, é um medicamento tipicamente usado no tratamento de disfunção erétil masculina.
“Precisamos entender por que o governo Bolsonaro está gastando dinheiro público para comprar Viagra e nessa quantidade tão alta. As unidades de saúde de todo o país enfrentam com frequência falta de medicamentos para atender pacientes com doenças crônicas, como insulina, e as Forças Armadas recebem milhares de comprimidos de Viagra. A sociedade merece uma explicação”, afirma Elias Vaz.
Além do tratamento de disfunção, o medicamento também é utilizado no tratamento de hipertensão arterial pulmonar, doença rara no Brasil e que acomete mais em mulheres na faixa dos 20 a 40 anos.
