Após 44 anos da erradicação da doença, Secretaria de Saúde do Distrito Federal notificou primeiro caso nesta terça-feira (5).
O paciente é um adolescente entre 15 e 19 anos e está em estado grave residente no DF e foi arranhado por um gato em 25 de maio. Em 15 de junho, ele começou a sentir sintomas da raiva como febre e dor nos olhos.
Em 20 de junho, o paciente foi internado na unidade de terapia intensiva (UTI) já em estado grave. A SES teve conhecimento do caso em 22 de junho, quando foi notificada pela equipe que cuida do paciente.
Em 4 de julho, a pasta recebeu o resultado do teste RT-PCR positivo para raiva, variante 3, ou seja, originária de morcego.
Outras 13 pessoas também tiveram contato com o gato contaminado. Elas estão sendo acompanhadas pela secretaria e, até o momento, não há registro de que algumas delas tenha sido infectada também.
Atualmente, no DF, além do caso no adolescente, há dois casos confirmados em animais. Um bovino e equíno.
Em entrevista coletiva, o diretor de Vigilância Epidemiológica da SES/DF, Fabiano dos Anjos, informou que a letalidade da doença é de 99,9%.
“No mundo há cerca de 59 mil mortes por ano por raiva. No Brasil, em 2020, dois casos foram registrados. Em 2021, houve um caso de raiva humana, uma criança agredida por uma raposa. Em 2022, até junho, haviam quatro casos de raiva. Há registro apenas de duas pessoas que sobreviveram. E elas vivem com sequelas”, disse Fabiano.
Devido à confirmação do primeiro caso de raiva humana no DF depois de 44 anos, a secretaria antecipou a Campanha de Vacinação Antirrábica. A pasta vai disponibilizar doses para cães e gatos a partir desta quarta-feira (6).
Uma das formas de prevenção da doença é por meio da vacinação de animais. Além disso, em caso de acidentes com os animais, é recomendado procurar um posto de saúde para que seja feita a profilaxia.
“A vacinação dos pets é a melhor medida de prevenção. Além disso, evite mexer em cães e gatos sem donos, nunca tocar em morcegos ou animais silvestres”, explicou Fabiano.
O soro antirrábico está disponível na rede pública hospitalar, assim como a vacina para os animais.
