A Polícia Federal prendeu, na quinta-feira (8), o peruano Rubens Villar Coelho, conhecido como Colômbia, suspeito de ser o mandante dos homicídios do indigenista Bruno Pereira e do jornalista britânico Dom Phillips.
Mantidos sob sigilo por receio de serem mortos, indígenas e não indígenas ouvidos em investigação jornalística pelo sute Amazônia Real revelam que Pelado, um dos presos que assassinaram o jornalista britânico e o indigenista brasileiro, estaria devendo ao menos 80 mil reais para o traficante de drogas e atravessador de pescado e caça peruano Rubens Villar Coelho, o “Colômbia”.
O valor seria o resultado de “prejuízos” que “Pelado” e outros pescadores e caçadores tiveram com carregamentos de peixes e animais silvestres apreendidos por causa do monitoramento da Equipe de Vigilância da Univaja (EVU), assessorada pelo indigenista Bruno Pereira na Terra Indígena Vale do Javari, no extremo oeste do Amazonas.
Os crimes ocorreram no início de junho.
Colômbia foi detido em flagrante por uso de documentos falsos ao ser ouvido na delegacia de Tabatinga sobre suposta participação nos homicídios. Ele negou envolvimento com o crime.
Como a pena do crime de uso de documentos falsos é superior a quatro anos, Coelho não poderá ser solto por pagamento de fiança. E a PF pretende pedir a prisão temporária dele para que possa aprofundar as investigações.
