O Superior Tribunal de Justiça devolveu a presidência da legenda a Eurípedes Júnior neste domingo, oito horas após convenção confirmar Pablo Marçal candidato.
Eurípedes Júnior anunciou nesta quarta-feira (3) que convocará nova convenção nacional do partido para referendar apoio formal à candidatura de Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) na disputa à Presidência da República, já no primeiro turno.
A nova reunião deve acontecer nesta sexta (5), último dia no calendário do Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE) para esse tipo de evento. Os filiados poderão escolher entre o apoio a Lula e a manutenção da chapa própria do partido, com o influenciador Pablo Marçal como candidato a presidente.
A indefinição é resultado de uma disputa interna no Pros pelo comando do partido.
Em março, o Tribunal de Justiça do Distrito Federal afastou Eurípedes Júnior da presidência do Pros em razão de susposto desvio de recursos. O partido passou a ser comandado por Marcus Holanda, que apoia a candidatura de Pablo Marçal.
A chapa do Pros foi confirmada em uma convenção nacional na manhã do último domingo, ainda sob o comando de Holanda. Oito horas depois, no entanto, o ministro do Superior Tribunal de Justiça (STJ) Jorge Mussi devolveu a presidência da sigla a Eurípedes Júnior até que o Tribunal de Justiça do DF termine de julgar o caso.
Nesta quarta, três dias após retomar o controle do Pros, Eurípedes Júnior se reuniu em São Paulo com o candidato a vice-presidente da chapa encabeçada por Lula, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), e com o coordenador do programa de governo da chapa, Aloizio Mercadante.
No encontro, Júnior declarou apoio à candidatura PT-PSB e se comprometeu a reverter a formalização da candidatura de Pablo Marçal. Segundo nota divulgada pela equipe de Mercadante, a comitiva restituída do Pros sugeriu a Alckmin e Mercadante a inclusão de um programa de auxílio a endividados nos planos de governo da chapa.
Desde a fundação do partido, em 2010, o Pros nunca lançou candidato próprio ao Planalto. A sigla sempre esteve ao lado do PT nas campanhas presidenciais.
