Gestão da Penitenciária Federal está sob o comando de um policial penal federal
O ministro da Justiça e Segurança Pública, Ricardo Lewandowski determinou o afastamento imediato da atual direção da Penitenciária Federal em Mossoró, no Rio Grande do Norte, na noite desta quarta-feira (14), depois da primeira fuga da história das prisões federais no Brasil.
Um policial penal federal que não teve o nome divulgado, assumirá o comando da unidade como interventor. Ele embarcou para o local, na tarde desta quarta, junto com o Secretário Nacional de Políticas Penais, André Garcia.
A medida ocorre após a fuga dos presos Rogério da Silva Mendonça, de 35 anos, e Deibson Cabral Nascimento, 33 anos. A fuga ocorreu nessa quarta-feira (14), e as circunstâncias de como dupla escapou não foram divulgadas pelo Ministério da Justiça, responsável pela unidade.
Os dois presos que fugiram somam 155 anos em condenações.
Os presos foram transferidos para a unidade, em setembro de 2023, após uma rebelião no Presídio Antônio Amaro Alves que deixou cinco detentos mortos. A dupla é ligada ao Comando Vermelho.
A Penitenciária Federal de Mossoró foi inaugurada em julho de 2009 e fica localizada em uma área rural no Rio Grande do Norte. Atualmente, 68 presos estão no local.
