A Polícia Federal (PF) deflagrou, nesta quarta-feira, 6, a operação Follow the Money, conduzida pela Delegacia de Repressão a Entorpecentes da PF no Paraná, com apoio da Polícia Militar de Santa Catarina, para desarticular uma organização criminosa que lavava dinheiro do tráfico de drogas.
A Receita Federal também participou da operação, realizando análises fiscais que corroboraram as conclusões sobre o uso de empresas fictícias para dispersar e ocultar os lucros ilícitos da organização criminosa.
A Operação Follow the Money mobiliza cerca de 200 policiais federais e 20 auditores da Receita Federal. Durante a ação, foram presos os principais líderes do grupo investigado. Além disso, estão sendo cumpridos 33 mandados de busca e apreensão nos estados do Paraná, Santa Catarina e Ceará.
Segundo as investigações, a quadrilha utilizava várias diferentes estratégias para ocultar a origem ilícita dos recursos financeiros, como investimentos em imóveis, veículos, transportes e no setor de óleos e lubrificantes. Os criminosos se valiam dessas atividades para dissimular as transações e dificultar o rastreamento do dinheiro.
Os agentes federais concentraram seus esforços em análises minuciosas das movimentações financeiras e patrimoniais dos investigados. Foram analisadas cerca de 500 contas bancárias, que apresentaram movimentações que totalizaram mais de R$ 2 bilhões nos últimos anos.
A Justiça também determinou o bloqueio de mais de 100 bens dos investigados, incluindo contas bancárias, imóveis urbanos e rurais, veículos de luxo, caminhões e maquinários agrícolas com o objetivo de evitar a dissipação dos ativos obtidos de forma ilegal pelos membros da organização criminosa.
