A família de Daniela Marys de Oliveira, arquiteta brasileira de 35 anos, natural de Minas Gerais, denuncia que ela está presa injustamente há quase sete meses no Camboja, na Prisão Provincial de Banteay Meanchey, conhecida pela superlotação, condições precárias e registros de mortes.
Daniela foi vítima de um esquema de tráfico humano, conforme denúncia da família e relatos na mídia nacional e internacional.
Segundo a irmã de Daniela, Lorena Mara Costa Oliveira, a brasileira aceitou uma proposta de emprego temporário como telemarketing no Camboja, onde viajou no final de janeiro deste ano após meses desempregada.
Ao chegar, seu passaporte foi retido pelas autoridades do local, e ela se alojou em um complexo afastado da capital, sem comércio e sem comunicação fácil.
Rapidamente a situação se tornou suspeita, quando Daniela percebeu que o emprego envolvia participação forçada em golpes pela internet, algo que ela recusou.Em março, Daniela tentou deixar o local, mas foi impedida.
Em 26 de março, ao voltar ao quarto, a polícia a prendeu sob acusação de posse e uso de drogas, após encontrarem três cápsulas plantadas em seus pertences. O pedido de Daniela para realizar exame toxicológico foi negado, o que poderia comprovar a inocência em relação ao uso de substâncias.
O julgamento está marcado para 23 de outubro de 2025.Enquanto Daniela está detida em condições de prisão superlotada, dividindo cela com cerca de 90 mulheres e enfrentando problemas de saúde, a família sofreu um golpe financeiro.
Criminosos assumiram o controle do celular da brasileira e extorquiram a família em R$ 27 mil, solicitando pagamento sob pretexto de multa trabalhista.
O Ministério das Relações Exteriores do Brasil, através da Embaixada em Bangkok, confirmou estar acompanhando o caso e fazendo gestões junto às autoridades cambojanas, prestando assistência consular conforme protocolo para vítimas de tráfico internacional de pessoas. No entanto, a família reclama da demora e da falta de respostas mais eficazes para garantir o retorno seguro de Daniela.
A mãe da jovem, Myriam Marys, que reside em João Pessoa, expressou preocupação com o estado da filha e cobrou mais empenho das autoridades brasileiras: “Ela é uma arquiteta formada, fala inglês fluentemente. Foi enganada por criminosos.
Quero que ela volte viva.”Organizações de direitos humanos comparam as condições da prisão a um local com superlotação severa e dificuldades no atendimento médico, incluindo casos recentes de morte de detentos por negligência.
